Bream Lake

Bream Lake is a private 164-acre spring-fed lake with a sandy bottom and clean water near Hawthorne, Florida. It is one of the over 400 bodies of water that lie within a 10-mile radius of the town and is just over an hour from the Atlantic.

The lake is 30 minutes from UF Health Shands Hospital and 45 minutes from Ocala International Airport. There’s a Hitchcock’s Market, a popular Floridian supermarket chain, nearby, and there are public schools in Hawthorne.

Hungry Bream Lake residents have a short drive to the Blue Water Bay, a highly rated regional seafood restaurant that boasts a popular all-you-can-eat buffet on the weekend. For an alternative flavor, Dian’s Old Time Barbeque is only 10 minutes from Bream Lake.

Activities on the Lake

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park encompasses over 21,000 acres and is home to bison, alligators, wild horses, and over 270 species of birds. Trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding provide access to the park, and overnight camping are also available.
